Special Accommodations
Senior Pet/Aggressive
Sometimes our pets take extra attention and care, and these pets might be older or what we call “Special Snowflakes.” For these pets, we offer special accommodations for shorter appointment times, called “Express Services,” we use different tools like E-Collars to help keep everyone safe from any accidents and we always will give extra kisses to make them feel at home (Kisses are free of charge, of course.) If you think your pet may require extra care or assistance, give our receptionist a call to have a quick consultation.
Matted
While this photo might be a bit extreme, this is unfortunately fairly common. Matting on dogs starts at the very base of the hair and when you run your hands through your dog’s hair, it may feel untangled, but there could be some severe matting happening underneath it. The only way to be sure this doesn’t happen is to brush and comb your dog daily, or at a minimum, weekly. Matting can be VERY painful to try and brush out when it is tight to the skin. The Willow’s Groomer Team wants to keep your dog fluffy and cute, but that may not always be an option. We do everything in our power to make sure we have tried every other option before we have to shave your pet. We will ALWAYS call you with an update if our original grooming plan needs to be adjusted once we start our process.
Fleas and Ticks
We take fleas and ticks very seriously at Willow’s Groomer. Both of these parasites are very easily spread to other pets. We always recommend monthly prevention for Fleas and Ticks rather than trying to treat them once your pet has issues. However, there are two options to help eliminate the presence of both while they are at our shop. The first is the typical Flea and Tick shampoo. This is an all-natural process that helps to kill anything on your pet’s skin while they sit in our tub for about 10 minutes. While this process does help kill most of them, it may not always be 100% effective. Our other option is a much easier and more effective treatment called Capstar. Capstar is an oral pill that once your pet ingests, will start to kill Fleas and Ticks in 30 minutes. This is a more effective method of eradicating the issue because the fleas can’t hide from it. If your pet comes into our shop with a Flea and Tick issue, we will educate you further on the Flea and Tick lifecycle and we will need to treat your pet with one of these options.
